If you don’t want to take advantage of your timeshare, you can make some extra cash by renting it out to someone else. Since many people who travel would rather stay in a home than in a hotel, you typically won’t have a hard time finding someone who is willing to pay you for your share. If you are unable to use your time slot, you may be able to trade around with another time share owner as well.

It is possible to get a loan to obtain funds for purchasing your timeshare, but most people prefer to use cash. You need to keep in mind that as a timeshare owner, you will be required to share the costs of maintaining the property, and the grounds.
